Victoria has a Parking Permit scheme administered by VicRoads

Parking spaces

Those reserved for a Parking Permit holder are marked with the wheelchair symbol.

Do not park if the space is marked with someone's name or a licence plate number.

Where you may use your Parking Permit

You may use your Parking Permit in all the states and territories of Australia and in many other countries around the world.

Look at the entry for the country you intend visiting to see if your Parking Permit can be used.

I'm visiting Victoria from overseas, will my permit work here?

If you're visiting Victoria remember to bring your current Disability Parking Permit issued from your country of residence, and display it when using disabled parking bays so you can:

- park in reserved disability parking spaces displaying the International Symbol of Access (ISA) for the specified time only

- park in ordinary parking bays for twice the specified time (any initial parking fees still apply).

Victorian Councils will not issue temporary disability parking permits to international visitors. 

Parking on roads

Do not park on a road where parking is prohibited; do not park in a bus, loading or no stopping zone, or on a clearway.

You may park in a bay marked with the wheelchair symbol, but you must pay the parking fee.

You may park in an ordinary parking bay for twice the time limit, but you must pay the parking fee.

Parking in car parks

Regulations in car parks vary – check the car park notices or ask an attendant.
