Massachusetts

Massachusetts

Massachusetts has a Parking Permit scheme administered by the Registry of Motor Vehicles

Parking spaces

Those reserved for a Parking Permit holder are marked with the wheelchair symbol.

Do not park if the space is marked with someone's name or a licence plate number.

Do not park on the striped area adjacent to a disabled person parking space – it is there to allow a wheelchair user access to and from the vehicle.

Where you may use your Parking Permit

Massachusetts Parking Permit holder

You may use your Parking Permit in most states of the USA, and in many other countries around the world.

Look at the entry for the state or the country you intend visiting to see if your Parking Permit can be used.

Visitor to Massachusetts

Visitor from another USA state – you may use your Parking Permit in Massachusetts.

Visitor from abroad – we are currently unable to say whether or not your Parking Permit may be used in Massachusetts – ask locally if you are entitled to the parking concessions shown opposite.

Parking on roads

You may park in a parking space marked with the international wheelchair symbol.

In some areas you may park at a parking meter free-of-charge – ask locally (the Massachusetts Port Authority does not exempt meter fees).

We currently have no other information on parking concessions – ask locally.

Parking in car parks

You may park in a parking space marked with the international wheelchair symbol.

Parking concessions in car parks may vary - check the car park notices or ask an attendant.
