South Australia

Australia

South Australia has a Parking Permit scheme administered the Department of Transport, Energy and Infrastructure

Parking spaces

Those reserved for a Parking Permit holder are marked with the wheelchair symbol.

Do not park if the space is marked with someone's name or a licence plate number.

Where you may use your Parking Permit

South Australia Parking Permit holder

You may use your Parking Permit in all the states and territories of Australia and in many other countries around the world.

Look at the entry for the country you intend visiting to see if your Parking Permit can be used.

Visitor to South Australia from abroad

Your own Parking permit can not be used in South Australia but you can use it to apply for a temporary one.

Apply at a SA Customer Service Centre (www.sa.gov.au click 'Permits', then 'Parking Permits').

Parking on roads

Do not park on a road where parking is prohibited; do not park in a bus or loading zone, or on a clearway.

You must pay to park at a parking meter but may park for twice the maximum time allowed, or, for the maximum time allowed plus a further 90 minutes, whichever is the greater.

These time concessions apply also to a parking bay without a parking meter but with a maximum time limit.

You must not exceed the time limit posted at a disabled person parking bay.
