Denmark has adopted the European Model Parking Card

Parking spaces


Those reserved for a Parking Card holder are marked with the wheelchair symbol.


Do not park if the space is marked with someone's name or a licence plate number.


Where you may use your Parking Card


Danish Parking Card holder

You may use your Parking Card in most EU and EEA member states, and in some other countries around the world.


Look at the entry for the country you intend visiting to see if your Parking Card can be used.


Visitor to Denmark

Visitor from another EU / EEA member state – you may use your Parking Card in Denmark.


Visitor from outside the EU / EEA – you may use your Parking Card in Denmark.


You must display a parking disk if you are taking advantage of parking time concessions.


Parking on roads


You may park for up to 15 minutes where parking is prohibited, but only if you do not cause an obstruction or danger.


Do not drive or park in a pedestrian zone unless local concessions specifically allow it - check the traffic signs or ask locally.


In some areas you must pay to park and not exceed the paid-for time - check the parking signs or ask locally.


In some areas on a road where payment is required, you may be allowed to park without time limit when you pay for the maximum time allowed – check the parking signs or ask or ask locally.


You may park on a road where parking is free but with a maximum time limit

  • For up to an hour where parking limited to 15-30 minutes

  • For an unlimited time where parking limited to one, two or three hours


Parking in car parks


Some car parks allow vehicles displaying the Parking card to be parked free of charge - check with car park notices or ask an attendant.
