Belgium has adopted the European Community Model Parking Card


Parking spaces

 

Those reserved for a Parking Card holder are marked with the wheelchair symbol.

 

Do not park if the space is marked with someone's name or a licence plate number.

 

Where you may use your Parking Card

 

Belgian Parking Card holder

You may use your Parking Card in most EU / EEA member states, and in some other countries around the world.

 

Look at the entry for the country you intend visiting to see if your Parking Card can be used.

 

Visitor to Belgium

Visitor from another EU / EEA member state – you may use your Parking Card in Belgium.

 

Visitor from outside the EU / EEA – you may use your Parking Card in Belgium provided it displays the international wheelchair symbol.

 

Parking on roads

Do not park on a road where parking is prohibited

 

Do not drive or park in a pedestrian zone

 

In some areas you may park free-of-charge and without time limit on a road where payment is required – check the parking signs or ask locally

 

When you are required to pay to park, you may exceed the maximum time permitted by paying again when the paid for time has expired

 

You may exceed the time limit on a road where parking is free but is restricted by time

 

Parking in car parks

 

Some car parks allow a vehicle displaying the Parking Card to be parked free-of-charge, but only in a parking space marked with the wheelchair symbol - check the car park notices or ask an attendant.
