Central and South America

Welcome to the Central and South America section of the FIA Guide for the disabled traveller. Read this page, and then click on the country you intend to visit

We are aware of five countries operating Parking Permit schemes. However, we believe only one will offer reciprocity to visitors. This is explained under the heading "Where you may use your Parking Permit"

"You may use your Parking Permit in _ _" means that reciprocity has been confirmed by an FIA motoring club or government expert, or both.

"We currently do not have information _ _ " means we have been unable to get information on reciprocity - you should ask locally before you park.

"You may not use your Parking Permit in _ _ _ " means we have been informed that it will not be recognised and you are not eligible to the parking concessions shown in the Guide.

What you should always do

  • Check the entry in the Guide.

  • Check locally by asking if your Parking Permit will be recognised - local people, police and parking officials will want to help you so do not be afraid to ask.

  • Only take advantage of parking concessions when you are completely satisfied your Parking Permit will be recognised.

Always - ask locally, park sensibly and safely, obey the rules, enjoy your visit!
